National Organization of Italian American Women

Jeanne Abate Allen

Jeanne considers herself “molto fortunata” to have grown up Italian, traveling most weekends from her home in NJ to Queens and the Bronx to enjoy long, loud and beautiful meals together. She tries to replicate those meals whenever her own four kids, extended families and friends are around. The Founder and CEO of the Center for Education Reform and a frequent commentator in the media, Jeanne wrote Unfinished Journey: Education and the American Dream as a tribute to her roots and her passion for ensuring that every family has the opportunity to access the best education they believe fits their children. She resides in the Washington, DC area and is a NIAF da Vinci Council member, a member of NOIAW (once selected as a “Wise Woman”), and a Dame in the Constantinian Order and in Malta. She is obsessed with Italy, going there when possible and just savoring its history, its many creations and people.
