Banfi is North America’s leading wine importer. Founded in 1919 by John Mariani, Sr., it is now owned and operated by the grandchildren, Cristina Mariana-May and James Mariani. Castello Banfi is the family’s vineyard estate in Tuscany. The estate in Old Brookville boasts a 60-room Elizabethan manor on 127 acres originally owned by the Vanderbilts. Its vaulted ceilings, English oak paneling, long corridors, stained glass medallions, tiled fireplaces and tapestries recall an opulent age of Long Island’s Gold Coast. You’re in for a real treat, as it is not open to the public.
