Join the Greater Washington, DC region members and friends for a private tour of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum! The tour will be led by a museum docent who will highlight Italian aircrafts used during World War II, such as the Aeronautica Macchi C.202 Folgore (Lightening) pictured above. Planes built for the Regia Aeronautica (Italian Royal Air Force or RA) during World War II demonstrated that Italy could design and build fighter aircraft to world-class standards.
The National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution holds the largest collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft in the world. The museum houses many world-renowned and historically significant spacecrafts and aeronautical artifacts, and is regarded as a center for research in aviation, spaceflight, terrestrial geology, geophysics, and planetary science.
After the tour, guests will have the opportunity to mingle and network over lunch in the museum cafe at their own expense.
