Telling HerStory: Four Italian American Women Writers NOW ONLINE
In honor of Women’s History Month,
NOIAW’s Connecticut Region presented
Telling HerStory: Four Italian American Women Writers
on How Heritage Connects Them to the Present
The audio recording of this program is now available online and can be heard here.
This interactive discussion with Italian American women authors, which was rescheduled from March 22nd to April 24th, 2020 due to the pandemic, took place on Zoom, focusing on what compels these writers to write about their heritage, family, and community.
Following an introduction by NOIAW Connecticut Regional President Pat Tinto, the panel examined the contemporary situation of immigration in Connecticut, and how their families’ immigrant past empowers them to be successful in the present. Helene Stapinski, journalist and author of several nonfiction books including Murder in Matera, led the discussion. Invitees included Linda Cardillo, Juliet Grames, and Marianne Leone. We encouraged all attendees to visit the website of our co-sponsor, I AM Books, to purchase the work of our featured authors while also supporting this independently-owned Italian American bookstore.
We hope you will enjoy the audio recording.
