Join the Long Island Network for its popular wine tasting and tour at the beautiful Banfi Vintners, North America’s leading wine importer. Founded in 1919 by John Mariani Sr., it is now owned and operated by his grandchildren, Cristina Mariani-May and James Mariani.
Banfi Vintners is the sole U.S. importer of the Mariani family’s internationally renowned wine estates in Italy: Castello Banfi of Montalcino, Tuscany, and Banfi Piemonte of Strevi, Piedmont. Banfi also imports the wines of several other producers, including category leaders Bolla, Florio, Fontana Candida, Placido, Riunite, and Sartori from Italy, Concha y Toro and Emiliana from Chile, and Trivento from Argentina, Wisdom & Warter Sherries from Spain and Stone’s Ginger wine from England. The company has ranked as North America’s leading wine importer for more than three decades.
The estate in Old Brookville boasts a 60-room Elizabethan manor on 55 acres with squared lawns and formal English gardens and was once owned by the Vanderbilts. The manor has a wine cellar that houses nearly 6,000 bottles of rare vintages, including vertical collections of Castello Banfi’s Brunellos, Super Tuscans, and single-vineyard varietals. Guests will enjoy a welcome aperitivo, a presentation and introduction by a Banfi official, a tour of Banfi’s beautiful headquarters, wine tasting, and refreshments.
