In honor of Women’s History Month, we invite you to join us for an evening commemorating the March 25, 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory tragedy that took the lives of 146 workers, many of them young Italian immigrants.
Playwright/actor LuLu LoLo Pascale will perform an except from her play Soliloquy for a Seamstress: The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire.
Costanza Quatriglio’s Triangle (2014), a documentary about the collapse of a building in Barletta, Apulia in 2011 which killed off-the-books clothing factory workers draws parallels to the victims of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, the deadliest industrial disaster in the history of New York City and the nation at the time.
President of the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition Professor Mary Anne Trasciatti will present the work of the Coalition and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Memorial project.
