GNY Epiphany Celebration Honoring Three Wise Women Tonight, January 9, 2015
Tonight is the night! It’s been a hectic time at NOIAW Headquarters in New York City, as we’ve been preparing for our annual Greater New York Region Epiphany Celebration honoring Three Wise Women at the Columbus Citizens Foundation Townhouse in New York City on 8 East 69th street between Madison and 5th Avenues. This fundraiser helps support our programming for young women, including our scholarships and cultural exchange.
Excitement is building as we collect donated items for the silent auction and gather the programs in preparation for the big night. If you are curious about this year’s distinguished honorees, read on for their bios.

Rosemary Maggiore
Rosemary Maggiore is a digital pioneer who has a background in strategy, business development, content and marketing. In January 2014, she joined Crain Communications as the General Manager of Digital for Crain’s New York Business. She has recently been promoted to oversee all marketing responsibilities for the company as well.
Ms. Maggiore launched the first ever Crain’s Made in New York trade show in partnership with the State of New York’s Department of Agriculture. The show promotes food and beverage providers that make products in New York State. Driven by her passion for small business and entrepreneurs, Ms. Maggiore also created a TV show for Crain’s called “New York Stories,” which airs on NYC Media and profiles entrepreneurs in all five boroughs.
Prior to Crain’s, Ms. Maggiore was President and Founder of Rachael Ray Digital for over seven years. She launched the celebrity chef’s magazine and web property, creating a profitable ad-driven website and online store that merged content and commerce in a destination site for Ray’s audience. She also managed up-and-coming talent, published two books, and launched a music-meets-food festival during the South by Southwest festival week. This event grew from 1,500 to over 10,000 attendees. During her tenure at Rachael Ray, Ms. Maggiore became a member of the Chief Digital Officers organization. Ms. Maggiore joined Ray after leading the Digital Business Group for The Reader’s Digest Association.
Ms. Maggiore is a big picture thinker who worked her way from marketing and business development at Barnes & Noble.com to a career in investment banking at Gruppo Levey & Co, where she served as Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions of media related companies. This experience taught her how to think about the future of a business and all of the many components that factor into its success.
Ms. Maggiore is the President of the PTA of her son’s elementary school. She lives in Pelham, New York with her children and fiancé.
Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D.
Dean Donna Rapaccioli oversees the spectrum of business education at Fordham University, including the business faculty, the undergraduate Gabelli School of Business, and the graduate business school. Informed by her belief that business education should enable young people to change the world, she has fostered programs that provide real-world skills while encouraging students to make a defining contribution to society. She is a champion of women in business, and she is especially proud of the many Fordham business students who were the first in their families to attend college.
As an administrator, Dr. Rapaccioli has earned a reputation for creating academic programs that emphasize applied learning, a global perspective, interdisciplinary thinking, and strong ties with industry. Her philosophy centers on business with purpose, grounded in the Jesuit-influenced principle that commerce should advance society in a greater way.
Dr. Rapaccioli serves on the Board of Trustees of Emmanuel College in Boston and the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC) Board and is a member of the Advisory Board for the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Fordham University’s London Centre, the Steering Committee for Fordham’s Consortium for Social Justice, and the Board of Advisors of the Fordham Corporate Law Center.
Dr. Rapaccioli’s research interests lie in the area of earnings management and international accounting; she has published articles in academic journals and practitioner outlets and is the coauthor of two book chapters. In her role as professor, Dr. Rapaccioli was selected by students to receive the outstanding teacher award. She has consulted for and lectured on accounting and finance topics at numerous financial institutions in New York City and serves as a Director on the Board of GE Asset Management Mutual Funds.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Fordham
University’s Gabelli School of Business and her master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Roma Torre
Roma Torre is Mid-Day Anchor and Chief Theatre Critic for NY1 News, where she has anchored since 1992. Currently, she anchors “News All Day.” She also draws on her background as a theatre and television actress as a regular contributor to “NY1 On Stage,” the channel’s weekly theatre show. Each year she hosts the news channel’s red carpet coverage outside the Tony Awards. In addition, Ms. Torre continues to cover news stories and special events, including NY1’s election night coverage, major ticket-tape parades, and whatever else is thrown in her direction.
Previously Ms. Torre anchored the award-winning “Inside City Hall,” a hard-hitting political and public affairs program described by one critic as “the 60 Minutes of local television.”
Ms. Torre began her television career at Channel 2 News, moving up to writing and producing. In 1986, when Cablevision announced the formation of the country’s first 24-hour local news station, News12 Long Island, she was among the first reporters hired. Ms. Torre stayed at News12 for five years, reporting, anchoring and hosting a weekly news program. In addition, she was the film and theatre critic for News12, and her reviews were published in the television magazine Total TV.
Ms. Torre has won more than 25 broadcasting awards, including an Emmy for reporting and anchoring the Avianca plane crash disaster in 1991. In 1993, she and “News All Evening” anchor Lewis Dodley were honored by New York Magazine‘s “Best Of” edition as the best news anchors in New York. In 2003 she was the recipient of the Newswomen’s Club of New York’s 2003 Peggy Award for Broadcasting, for her review of the Broadway show “Big River.”
Born in New York City, Ms. Torre grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in English and history from Tufts University. She pursued a career in the dramatic arts, including starting a theatre company and performing in numerous soaps and off-Broadway productions, before trading in the stage lights for the glare of television news cameras.
